Dr. David Beer, professor of political science at Malone University, gave an overview of the first day, which featured such players as Bill Taylor, Jim Jordan, among others. He also touched on Deval Patrick entering the race on the Democratic side.

6:51 - What about the legal implications of impeachment? Dean Carro, president of the Akron Bar Association, joined the program to discuss those ramifications and what it means to the political and legal structure.

:19 - The White House announced on Monday that the United States will pull out of military intervention in Syria, which has prompted strong opinions from pundits to other politicians. Mike Lyons is a military consultant for CBS News, and he joined the program to discuss the situation overall, and how the US has never been obligated to protect the Kurds.

6:36 - The Browns probably should be left off primetime TV, as they were blown out by the 49ers, 31-3, on Monday Night Football. Ray, Tony, and Kris broke down their thoughts on the game, from the poor offensive line and quarterback play, to being out-coached once again by their opponent.

9:51 - Ten years ago today, the world lost Walter Cronkite, the famed anchor of the CBS Evening News for 19 years. The morning show panel talked about how news and sports anchors aren’t necessarily up front and center in today’s media the way Cronkite and Peter Jennings were.

:19 - The Iula name is synonymous with the Soap Box Derby. Jeff Iula is an at-large councilman in Cuyahoga Falls, and he’s also a historian of the derby, and he shared some classic stories from his youth.

7:36 - President Trump found a way to unite the Democrat Party over the weekend with his tweets about how the freshman congresswomen should “leave” if they dislike America. Many have come out of the woodwork in saying the president’s tweets are racist and xenophobic, including a few folks in the studio.

13:33 - Last weekend was the Bridgestone Senior Players golf tournament, this weekend is the All-American Soap Box Derby, and in the coming weeks, we’ll have the Pro Football Hall of Fame game and inductions and a plethora of neighborhood festivals. Gregg Mervis, the head of the Summit County Convention and Visitor Bureau, talked about the economic impact these will have for the area.

Dr. David Beer is a professor of political science at Malone University, and he joined Ray to recap both Trump’s speech and the counter address from Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer.

15:50 - And what about immigration in general? Farhad Sethna is a local immigration attorney, and he shared his thoughts on Trump’s rhetoric, which he’s been critical about these last two years.

The United States pulling out of the Paris Climate Accord was not popular with everyone, but supporters on the Republican side of the spectrum were pleased.

Congressman Jim Renacci was one of those Republicans, and he joined the Ray Horner Morning Show to discuss it. Renacci says being part of the climate accord would have been a costly endeavor for the US, and the focus should be domestic. The former Wadsworth mayor is happy to see jobs in the coal industry making a comeback.

Rep. Renacci also touched on the attacks in London, calling them “heartbreaking.” He has been a staunch supporter of the Travel Ban, and attacks such as London and Manchester prove why the United States needs to be protected.

Much like the president, Renacci has not always been a politician. Recently, he was endorsed by Bikers For Trump and Citizens For Trump, and he shared the gratitude he has for his supporters early on in his race for the governorship.

AUDIO: Sen. Brown on Comey Firing, Healthcare

News out of Washington over the last week has been divisive and partisan, and politicians from both sides have not been shy to weigh in.

One of those politicians is Ohio senator Sherrod Brown, joined the Ray Horner Morning Show on Thursday. As for the recent firing of FBI director James Comey, Brown questions the timing of Comey’s firing, calling it “troubling.” Brown also believes it's “pretty clear" about the ties between President Trump and Russia.

Commenting on the new healthcare bill, the Ohio senator says he has “no idea” what will happen as time goes on, but will “fight like hell” to oppose the bill. He also shared his thoughts on NAFTA and the airline industry.

AUDIO: Rep. Renacci On Trump, TPP

Week one of the Trump Administration is in the books, and his pen has used a lot of ink.

Congressman Jim Renacci was in attendance for the January 20th inauguration, and he joined the Ray Horner Morning Show to recap the week that was. Renacci commented on Trump’s executive orders and bills being signed, saying it was “exciting” to see the new president accomplish this much this soon.

Rep. Renacci, also a businessman-turned-politician, touched on TPP, saying he has been frustrated with America’s tax codes and trade agreements over the years. He also talked about bipartisan leadership, the Alaskan pipeline, and the proposed wall on the Mexican border.
