Canton Drug Ring w/ Link to Mexico Busted

Fifteen people who were dealing heroin and cocaine from Mexico and California throughout the Canton area have been indicted on federal drug trafficking charges.

The following were named in the 39-count indictment out of the U.S. Attorney's Office in Cleveland: 

  • Miguel Reyes-Perez, 33, from Mexico
  • Miguel Ayala-Cardona, 52, from Canton
  • Juan Silverio Castro-Castrio, 18, from Massillon
  • Louis Dunson Jr., 49, from Canton
  • Louis Dunson III, 26, from Canton (pictured)
  • Oscar Fabian Garcia-Reyes, 29, from Canton
  • Michael Yarnell Harris, 40, from Massillon
  • David Deon Jones-Dehart, 38, from Orrville
  • Stephanie Joy Dehart, 48, from Orrville
  • Albino Lopez-Ruvalcaba, 43, from Canton
  • Willie J Middleton, 63, from Canton
  • Earnest Lee Nelson Jr., 36 from Orrville
  • Rogelio Tello-Ramirez, 51, from Canton
  • Ciro Ajualip, 26, from Canton
  • Alvaro Orosoco, 34, from Canton

 

The U.S. Attorney out of Cleveland's reporting one of those indicted, Louis Dunson, III, 26 from Canton, is still at large.

Anyone with information on Dunson's whereabouts should call the FBI at 216-522-1400.

Local "Drugstore" Owner NOT on "Cloud 9"

A local mom and pop "drugstore" next to Summa Akron City Hospital is closed for the foreseeable future after a raid by Akron Police Narcotics agents earlier this week.

The Akron Beacon Journal is reporting that police seized marijuana, edibles, CBD oil, cocaine, and a handgun during the raid at "Cloud 9 Herbal Gallery."

Lt. Rick Edwards with APD told the Beacon that resident filed multiple complaints about the store that advertised on Facebook, offering "everything you need to... elevate yourself."

DeShawn Stafford, who's registered on the lease of the building, is already in Summit County Jail on cocaine trafficking charges. 

Another employee of the store was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine and drug trafficking. A warrant has been issued for another woman on drug charges as well.

Two From PA Arrested With 1,400 Ecstasy Pills

Ohio State Highway Patrol in Summit County stopped a Ford F-150 back on March 22nd for a "marked lane violation."

When the truck was pulled over, a drug-sniffing dog alerted troopers to possible drugs in the vehicle. Upon searching the truck, troopers found more than 1,400 Ecstacy pills, worth about $32,000.

Andreas Key, 32, and 33-year-old Gregory Gray, both who are from Pennsylvania, were arrested on felony possession and drug trafficking charges.

They've been booked in Summit County Jail.

Barberton Police Seize Drugs In Bust

Barberton police say they've made a drug bust at a home on 5th Street Northeast.

Police say they served a search warrant at about 4:30 on Thursday afternoon, and seized fentanyl, diazepam and other drug instruments and counterfeit cash.

45 year-old David Gumm of the 5th Street Northeast home, and 36 year-old Brian Segedy of Barberton, both face felony drug possession charges.

Both were booked into the Summit County Jail.

(Barberton Police Department, news release) Friday, October 14,2016 - At approximately 4:30 pm yesterday, the Barberton Police Department SWAT Team along with Barberton Narcotics Detectives conducted a search warrant of a resident at 233 5 ST NE in the City of Barberton. Investigators seized Fentanyl, Diazepam tablets, numerous syringes and other drug instruments and counterfeit U.S. Currency.

David P. Gumm, 45, of 233 5 ST NE was charged with Possession of Drugs-Fentanyl, a felony of the 4th degree, and Possession of Criminal Tools, a misdemeanor of the 1st degree.

Brian Segedy, 36, of Barberton was charged with Possession of Drugs-Fentanyl, a felony of the 4th degree, Possession of Drugs-Fentanyl, a felony of the 4th degree, Possession of Drugs-Diazepam, a misdemeanor of the 2nd degree and Possession of Criminal Tools, a misdemeanor of the 1st degree.

Both subjects are being held in the Summit County Jail.

FBI: Drug Bust In Massillon

Just under a dozen people are facing charges after the FBI and local law enforcement executed several search warrants in connection with a drug ring involving crystal meth in Massillon.

NewsChannel 5 reports Carlos Elias and his wife Lisa were arrested at a Lincoln Way NW home where five children were removed. The kids are now in the custody of a family member.

Authorities say Elias is the local distributor of the drugs -- importing about 2 to 5 pounds of crystal meth per month from California. The FBI says Elias purchases a pound of drugs for $2,400 and then sells it for $11,000 to $14,000. In total, 11 people will be charged. Other locations are being searched in Akron, Canton, Medina County, and Tuscarawas County.

Munroe Falls Traffic Stop Turns Drug Bust

Munroe Falls police say that a traffic stop early Tuesday turned into a drug bust.

Police say they stopped the car for a headlight violation, and say a smell of marijuana came from the car. A check showed the three people inside had a history of drug involvement.

The car sped away after Munroe Falls police brought in a police dog from Stow to sniff around.

Officers say drugs and drug paraphenalia were thrown from the car in a brief chase.

Three people were arrested when the car stopped.

28 year-old Amber Isler, 30 year-old Earl Wayne Mitchel and 43 year-old Jarrett Forester face drug possession and other charges related to the arrest.

Police say they netted 52 grams of cocaine, 7.8 grams of crack, 2 grams of marijuana and $665 in cash.
