Stark Deputies Pick Up Second Suspect

Stark County deputies, along with member of the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force, has arrested a second adult in connection with a burglary that turned into a chase by police following a traffic stop. 19-year old Ja'lon Kirkland was picked up Thursday and joins fellow accused accomplice, 19-year old Raejon Marquell Williams, in the Stark County Jail. Police say Kirkland and Williams were both involved in a burglary in progress when they responded to the scene of a Plain Township home but fled, with one brandishing a weapon during a traffic stop on 30th Street NE.

(Stark County Sheriff) Sheriff George T. Maier is announcing the arrest of 19-year-old Ja’lon Kirkland in connection with an aggravated burglary in Plain Township. On Wednesday, May 3, 2017 deputies responded to a residence in the 2500 block of Cathy Drive NE in Plain Township for an aggravated burglary in progress.

Witnesses stated the suspects brandished a firearm and then fled the scene in a box truck. Responding Deputies located the suspect vehicle in the area and initiated a traffic stop as the vehicle fled east on 30th St NE. The vehicle came to a stop in the area of 30th St NE and Willowrow Ave NE. Kirkland and 19-year-old Raejon Williams fled on foot. Williams was arrested Wednesday, shortly after the incident took place and was booked into the Stark County Jail on charges of Aggravated Burglary and Obstruction of Official Business.

Kikland was taken into custody by deputies at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 4th, 2017 with the assistance of the U.S. Marshal’s Violent Fugitive Task Force. He was arrested at his home in Canton without incident on arrest warrants charging him with Aggravated Burglary and Obstruction of Official Business. He has been booked into the Stark County Jail.

Stark County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a burglary in progress at a home on Cathy Drive NE Wednesday. Two suspects entered the home and pulled guns on the residents. Then they loaded an ATV and a motorcycle into a box truck and sped off. Responding deputies noticed the truck and pulled the suspects over. That's when they fled on foot. One suspect, 19-year-old Raejon Marquell Williams was caught and arrested, the second suspect is still on the loose. After the fact, Deputies arrested a female juvenile in connection. She's been booking in Stark County Juvenile Detention Center. Inside the truck Deputies found a gun and an airsoft pistol.
