Ray Horner Podcast - 7/31/2019

:19 - After the Indians’ 2-0 loss to the Houston Astros, they took care of a couple of needs in a big three-team trade. The Tribe sent Trevor Bauer to the Reds, and picked up a haul from both Cincinnati and San Diego in acquiring the bats of Yasiel Puig and Franmil Reyes. Ray and Tony touched on the deal, which, out of the three teams, benefits the Indians the most.

6:19 - Tuesday was Barberton mayor Bill Judge’s state of the city address, and he recapped what he mentioned with Ray the next morning. Those topics included the loss of B&W and the gain of the Amazon fulfillment center in the immediate area.

12:48 - Norton superintendent Dana Addis talked about We Roar Together, a new five-year plan for their school system.

17:53 - Ray and Tony talked a little more on the trade, and more on Bauer’s contract and antics.

Ray Horner Podcast - 7/29/2019

:19 - Ray is back from his vacation, though it wasn’t a vacation for Trevor Bauer and the Indians on Sunday. After imploding on the mound during the Indians’ 9-6 loss to Kansas City, a visibly upset Bauer launched a ball over the centerfield fence before leaving the mound. Ray and Tony discussed this topic in depth.

6:31 - A little more on the Bauer saga and how pitchers and athletes should conduct themselves.

13:20 - Our veterinarian Dr. Gary Riggs stopped by as always this Monday, and he touched on the wave of heartworm occurring in the Akron area due to the wet spring/early summer and influx of mosquitos. Dr. Riggs is also the veterinarian at the Greater Cleveland Aquarium, and he shared some facts about sharks during Shark Week.

19:32 - Today is National Chicken Wing Day, and Ray mentioned a few facts on chicken wings, which were invented at the Anchor Bar in Buffalo, New York in 1964.

8:46 - Summa Health System has a new campaign to support patient care, which is called “Caring For You...Then, Now, Always.” President and CEO of Summa, Dr. Cliff Deveny, called into the show to talk about the company’s mission.

15:33 - Indians all-star hurler Trevor Bauer won another arbitration case and will make $13 million in 2019. But according to reports, Bauer believed the arbitrators used “character assassination” in their case against him. Ray and Tony broke down what happened and how the Tribe will look in the upcoming season.

28:08 - It’s that time of year where we get our houses and living spaces in order for the spring season, and the Home & Garden Show at the John S. Knight Center is the perfect place for inspiration. Indians' Bauer Moved To Game 3 Due To Injury

Just hours before the American League Championship Series, the Indians have had to make a pitching adjustment.

Corey Kluber will still be on the mound for tonight's Game 1 against the Blue Jays, but Trevor Bauer won't be starting tomorrow's Game 2 due to a "non-baseball injury" - a laceration to his right pinkie finger which did require stitches.

That moves Josh Tomlin to Game 2 as the starter.

The Indians say Trevor Bauer is now scheduled to start Game 3 at Toronto on Monday night.

(Indians) RHP JOSH TOMLIN will start Game 2 of the A.L. Championship Series, tomorrow, Saturday, October 15.

RHP TREVOR BAUER (non-baseball related injury) suffered a laceration to his right small ("pinkie") finger which required several stitches. Trevor is scheduled to start Game 3 at Toronto on Monday, October 17.
