Cedar Point Warning of Family Fun Pack Scam

Scammers are getting more creative in finding ways to bamboozle you into giving up your info, whether it's through your your phone, your email, or even social media.

With that in mind, Cedar Point is warning the public to watch for a new social media scam, that's encouraging people to click a link for a free four pack to celebrate the park's 50th anniversary.

One major red flag: The park isn't celebrating 50 years this year.

Cedar Point officials Tweeted, the promotion isn't through Cedar Point's OFFICIAL website.

Cedar Point Bet Loss: "Top Thrill Cubster"

A Cedar Point ride will temporarily have a name that'll sting for Indians fans.

The Sandusky amusement park made a wager with the Six Flags Great America amusement park near Chicago...and since the Cubs won the World Series, Cedar Point will rename "Top Thrill Dragster" to "Top Thrill Cubster"...but only for 2017's opening weekend.

Cedar Point workers also made a video of them singing "Go Cubs Go".

(Cedar Point, Facebook) It wasn't the way we wanted it to end, but we're paying up! Congrats to the Chicago Cubs on their history-making World Series win! In their honor, and to make good on Six Flags Great America/Hurricane Harbor's wager, here's our video. And on 2017's opening weekend, Top Thrill Dragster will be renamed "Top Thrill Cubster". What a great season, Cleveland Indians and Chicago Cubs!

Delly Celebrates At Cedar Point

After the plane landed back in Cleveland Monday afternoon, LeBron said he was going to take a long nap. But one of his teammates was still looking for a thrill.

Fan favorite Matthew Dellavedova posted on social media that he took his family to Cedar Point to celebrate the Cavaliers' NBA Championship Monday night.

The park tweeted a photo of Delly Tuesday morning riding in the front row of the Millennium Force with two big thumbs up.

Cedar Point's relationship with Lebron James continues to be a slam dunk for the Akron natives' charity efforts.

Thrill seekers who purchased tickets to be one of the first to ride the amusement park's new record breaking roller coaster Valravn helped raise over $73,000 for the Lebron James Family Foundation.

Cedar Point's Vice President and General Manager Jason McClure expressed his appreciation for the foundation's commitment to give back at the ride's opening ceremony.

"They are a real group of people that make a tangible difference in their community. They really make life changing impact for the folks in their community, and we're really proud that we could partner with somebody that has the commitment that they do and do what what they do for their community", he said.

Tickets to ride in the front row were sold for $500, while other seats went for $75.

This is the second year in a row that the Cavaliers player has partnered with the park. Last year, Cedar Point offered riders a chance to bid on seats for the Rougarou coaster, which raked in $126,000 for the foundation.

Cedar Point officially opened for the season last weekend.

Cedar Point and SportsForce Parks are teaming up to create a great sports complex to host various outdoor events just a stones' throw away from the roller coaster capital of the world.

Recently, there was a groundbreaking earlier this month to create the new complex, which will be set to open in 2017.

Tony Clark, Director of Communications for Cedar Point joins the Sam Bourquin Show to explain why this is a win-win not only for the youth sports community, but for the community of Sandusky as well.

"This has been in the works for a while," Clark said. "The groundbreaking was very exciting, and this is a great opportunity not just for our community here, but for Northeast Ohio."

The $23.5 million complex will be situated on Route 6 on the site of the former Griffing Sandusky Airport.

The new complex will house fields for baseball, softball, lacrosse, and soccer.

Clark says this will be a tremendous benefit to the youth sports folks and their families coming into town, who may have gone to a tournament in a more remote location, but with Cedar Point very close by to the new sports park, it brings people to the area who may not have come before.

"We can combine the sports experience for the youth, as well as the park experience for the families that can make an extended stay out of it," he said.
