Missing Adult Alert Out of Portage Co.

A Missing Adult Alert has been issued by the Portage County Sheriff's Office statewide.

Information as of: June 24, 2019 at 9:20 AM

Be on the lookout for a missing adult. On June 22, 2019 at 7:00 PM, Mr. Stahly drove away from his residence and has not been seen since.

Missing Adult

The incident took place in Portage County, OH on Lovers Lane in the city of Ravenna 44266.

The adult's name is Lonnie Stahly and the individual is missing. The adult is a White male, age 82, is 5'9" tall, weighs 180lbs, and has gray hair and blue eyes. Lonnie Stahly suffers from Dementia and has other medical conditions for which he is required to take medication. He does not have his medication with him. He was last wearing a blue shirt with white stripes and blue jeans.

The vehicle involved is a gray 2016 Chrysler 200 with OH plate number 536YSX. The vehicle pictured is not the actual involved.

Sheriff: Ravenna Man Forged CCW Permits

A Ravenna NRA instructor was arrested Monday, charged with issuing fake concealed carry permits to participants of his class.

According to reports, Anthony Drago, 47, forged concealed carry training certificates without providing the required training, that by law must include at least 8 hours of class time and two hours of range time.

The Record Courier is reporting that Drago's charged with four counts of tampering with records, four counts of falsification to obtain a concealed-carry weapon permit, and four counts of forgery. 

Drago was arrested Monday and arraigned in Portage County Court before he was released on $20,000 personal recognizance bond.

Employee Stabs Coworker in Easter Altercation

On Easter Sunday, Streetsboro Police received a call from the Gardens of Western Reserve Assisted Living at 9975 Greentree Parkway, that claimed an employee had stabbed another employee. The call cut off, but when officers responded, they found a 19-year-old female with severe cuts. 

Witnesses told police that the suspect, 19-year-old Emilie Brunswick of Ravenna, had fled the scene. The victim was transported to University Hospital Portage Medical Campus in Ravenna and police went to go look for Brunswick, who was later found at a relative's home in Aurora, with the help of the Portage County Sheriff's Department. She was placed under arrest for Felonious Assault. 

The victim, whose name wasn't released, was treated and released from the hospital two days after the incident, but police say she will require follow-up care. 

The report added that no patients nor residents of Gardens of Western Reserve were in danger at any time.

Reward Increased For Suspected Ravenna Shooter

The U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force, along with Ravenna Police, have increased the reward to $10,000 for anyone with information leading to the arrest of David Darnell Calhoun Jr. 

Calhoun Jr. is wanted in the shooting deaths of 33-year-old Lashaun Sanders, 32-year-old Sara Marsh, and her unborn baby back on November 30, 2016, according to reports from Ravenna Police. 

Court documents show that Calhoun Jr. was on parole at the time of the shooting. 

He is believed to be armed and dangerous and police say he's likely in the Akron or Ravenna area. Anyone with informaiton is asked to call 866-4-WANTED.

UPDATE Portage Deputies Find Armed Robbery Suspect

(UPDATE 3:00 PM 9/27/16) Portage County Sheriff deputies say they have found an armed robbery suspect that they consider armed and dangerous.

23 year-old Elijah Kyle Sanders was taken into custody after the Sheriff's office got information from the public about his possible location.

Sanders is accused of robbed a Ravenna Township home early this morning at around 3:30.

Reports say Sanders pulled out a handgun and robbed three people, after first coming to the Summit Road home as a guest. He then fled on foot.

He's being held at the Portage County Jail without bond, and will be arraigned on Wednesday afternoon.

(Earlier coverage) Portage County Sheriff deputies are searching for an armed robbery suspect that they consider armed and dangerous.

Deputies say they need the public's help to find 23-year-old Elijah Kyle Sanders who allegedly robbed a Ravenna Township home early this (Tuesday) morning around 3:30. Reports say Sanders had come to the Summit Road residence as a guest and at some point pulled out a handgun and robbed three people. Sanders then fled on foot. No one was injured during the robbery.

A warrant has been issued for Sanders. He's facing three counts of aggravated robbery.

Ravenna Man Left In Critical Condition

Ravenna police are trying to determine what happened to a 33-year old man found unconscious in the road early Sunday morning.

Witnesses say Darren Difiore of Ravenna had been a patron in the nearby East Main Saloon that evening; he was found behind the tavern on East Main Street with head injuries. He was transfered by a life-flight chopper to a Cleveland hospital with his injuries and is listed as critical.

(Ravenna PD) On August 21st, 2016 at 2:31AM, Sunday morning, Ravenna Police Department officers responded to the area of 130 E Main St, at the rear of the East Main Saloon in Ravenna, for a reported male subject lying in the roadway, on Maple Lane.

Officers located 33 year old Darren Difiore of Ravenna, unconscious and
bleeding from head injuries. EMS transported Difiore to University Hospitals
Portage Medical Center. Difiore was later transferred to a hospital in Cleveland by medical helicopter. Difiore's condition is listed as critical.

Officers made contact with several persons in the area. Witnesses could not
provide any information regarding Difiore's injuries, only stating they had left East Main Saloon at closing time and discovered Difiore in the roadway.

Difiore was believed to have been a patron in East Main Saloon earlier in the evening. This investigation continues.

Kent Man Killed In 4-Car Crash

A four-car crash left one person dead and several others injured in Ravenna Friday afternoon. 
 
Troopers with the State Highway Patrol reports Curtis W. Williams, 67, of Kent, was not wearing a seat belt when he collided, head-on, with a vehicle after passing several cars while in the left turn only lane on SR 59. Williams' car struck the vehicle of Todd Fields, 47, of Akron, and then also struck two other vehicles.
 
Williams was pronounced dead on the scene. Police say Fields and two other were injured, but did not go to a hospital. Sarah Lavrich, 30, of Ravenna, was also driving one of the vehicles that was hit in the crash. Her one-year-old child was in the car with her. Both were taken to the hospital, but their injuries are not known.
 
The crash remains under investigation.

The city of Ravenna is in the running for a new military training center. Well, that is if there is a running.

Frank Seman, the mayor of Ravenna, joined the Ray Horner Morning Show to discuss this possible expansion of the Missile Defense Agency. Mayor Seman says there is 22,000 acres at the arsenal, and there are studies done as to how much land would be required for the site.

Ravenna is competing with cities in Michigan and New York for this billion-dollar defense system, which could employ 400 people.

UPDATE Two People Found Dead in Hudson Home

Police investigating two people found dead in a home in Hudson Saturday afternoon.

The names of the deceased are two adults -- one male and one female and were identified as 53-year-old Stephen Bice and his wife, 42-year-old wife Kristi, according to Newschannel 5.

The bodies were found at 7687 Ravenna Road.

Newschannel 5 reports police are treating the investigation as an apparent murder/suicide and that Stephen Bice first shot his wife and then himself.

No more details were released and the investigation is ongoing.
