Cavs play-by-play TV voice Fred McLeod from FoxSports Ohio joined Brad Russell to talk about the passing of sports broadcaster Craig Sager due to cancer Thursday.

Sager was 65. He worked for various outlets, most notably Turner Sports, where he was seen as a sideline reporter during NBA games.

He got to cover an NBA Finals courtesy of ESPN as he was battling cancer.

Former NFL quarterback Jake Plummer joined the Brad Russell Show Monday to talk about some of the alternative solutions for helping current and former players dealing with the mental and physical ailments associated with playing football.

The former 10-year pro is a proponent of cannabidiol, or CBD oil, which is the non-psychoactive element of the hemp plant, which could be used to counteract some of the effects of long-term brain and physical injuries from playing the game.

He spoke about that with Brad on Monday.

The saga of embattled Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon has continued as he has decided to enter an in-patient rehab facility.

Brad expressed his frustration and disappointment with Gordon.

Gordon was slated to come back after his most recent suspension, and through a statement released by Gordon himself, he said he needed to step away from the game "to gain full control of his life"

AUDIO City Series Football: What's The Plan?

The City Series, football league the Akron Public Schools  has been one of the hot topics in the greater Akron area, and one of the former players and coaches in the city spoke about where things are headed with the athletic side of things.

Jay Brophy sat down with Ron Linger, Assistant Athletic Director with the Akron Public Schools in studio to talk about some of the history and where the league is going moving forward.

 One of the biggest issues with the City Series is facilities, and Linger talked about how they are looking to improve that aspect of things.

Ron and Jay also talked about the Superintendent's committee that is looking at these issues head-on.

 They formed last year and meet with APS Superintendent David James monthly.
