UA Students Suing School Over Accreditation Loss

Thirteen current and former University of Akron students are suing the University because the marriage counseling and therapy program in which they were enrolled, lost dual accreditation.

According to the report from Cleveland.com, $25,000 in damages is being sought. The group of students claim they lost money by having to take on debt for things like student loans, and moving expenses, and that the University engaged in unfair consumer practices to encourage them to enroll in the program.

University officials say they're still reviewing the complaint, and note that program still has accreditation from one educational commision.

AUDIO Wine & Gold Chemistry On Point

The Cleveland Cavaliers have been rolling in these playoffs, the players are really coming together both on and off the floor, and it couldn't come at a better time, as they await their Eastern Conference Finals opponent.

Chris Haynes, who covers the team for Cleveland.com joined the Sam Bourquin Show to talk about the Wine and Gold and how they got to this point both on and off the floor.

Haynes says forward Kevin Love has come out of his shell and he's playing confident and loose basketball.

"This year for some reason, he's trying to get to know his teammates and get comfortable," he explained. "He's a homebody and he stays to himself, and last year it seemed like LeBron James kind of tried to force that team chemistry, because he's of the belief that if you get along off the court, you'll do better on the court."

Chris recalled when the team was in Atlanta, they were not cloistered in dark corners of restaurants, they were not closed off, but eating on outdoor patios and letting everyone see them.

He says that it's been apparent that the off court chemistry has been crucial to their success on the hardwood during these playoffs.

Chris says the Cavaliers have been resting, getting treatment, and watching some game tape as of late, but he says with the long week off, they'll have to stay crisp in their offensive sets.

"They're going to make sure they're not going too hard, but they're trying to keep their conditioning up."

AUDIO Cavs Get Ready For Game 3

The Cleveland Cavaliers are in the ATL and are looking to put the Hawks in a 3-0 hole in the Eastern Conference Semifinals.

Joe Vardon from Cleveland.com joined Sammy B on a "Feel Good Friday" to talk about the matchup, if the Cavs will continue to shoot at their blistering pace, and if Atlanta will play dirty.

Vardon says he expects this contest to be a little tighter than in Game 2, where the Wine & Gold connected on a record 25 three-pointers.

"It's hard to find a matchup right now that the Hawks can exploit," said Vardon.

As far as the comments addressed by NBA analyst Charles Barkley, Joe says he doesn't expect any tom-foolery from Atlanta here tonight, or throughout the series.

"I think they're a more cerebral team, they respect the game, they will play more agressive defense on the perimeter," he explained.

The Cavs and the Hawks tip it off tonight at 7 p.m. on 1590 WAKR.

AUDIO Vardon: Cavs Back To Drawing Board

The main question many Cavaliers fans are asking themselves after last night's lopsided loss to the Golden State Warriors is simple: What went wrong?

Joe Vardon covers the Wine and Gold for Cleveland.com. He joined the Sam Bourquin Show Tuesday and discussed how they need to look themselves in the mirror and get tougher against the league's top teams.

"I think there has to be some kind of pause and reflection here," Vardon said. "You can't have the payroll the Cavaliers has and turn in stinkers like that."

Golden State defeated the Cavs 132-98 last night at the Quicken Loans Arena in downtown Cleveland.

The Warriors shot over 50 percent from beyond the arc and over 50 percent from the floor. J.R. Smith had a solid floor game with 14 points before getting ejected.  "These guys need to hold themselves accountable," Vardon says.

The Cavs will take on the Brooklyn  Nets tomorrow at 7:30pm. You can hear the game on 1590 WAKR.
