"Here's this guy who's 46 years old and he's showing the youngsters how it's done," Kay said.

AUDIO: Kay: Jason Day, Rory Golf's Future

After Jason Day of Australia won the Players' Championship last weekend in Florida, may people are talking about him being one of the game's brightest stars, and for him to sustain that label, he's got to turn out some more performances like he did last week.

SB Nation golf writer Emily Kay joined Brad Russell on a Tee it Up Tuesday to talk about his performance and how he came through during the game's final round.

"He didn't have his 'A' game, it seems, but like Tiger in the past, he kind of overcame everybodyelse and hung in there, and he's not number one for nothing," she said.

Forecasting his long-term success, Kay says there's no crystal ball in front of her, but Day as well as Irishman Rory McIlroy have separated themselves from the pack on the PGA Tour.

"He's (Day) certainly has the game, no one's ever going to do what Tiger did, but he's on his way."  Rory McIlroy had some success as well lately, winning the Irish Open.

McIlroy's also been in the news for speaking about the Olympics in Rio and his concern about the Zika virus and what that could mean for all competitors moving forward.

AUDIO Emily Kay Breaks Down The Masters

The Masters is going to start up tomorrow in Augusta, Georgia, and a field of talented golfers will be vying for the Green Jacket yet again at Augusta National.

Emily Kay, Golf writer for SB Nation joined Brad Russell in the Average Sports Show to talk about the field and what the chances are for Jordan Speith defending his title.

"There's 10 or 15 guys that you wouldn't be surprised if they won," Kay said. "He's not playing the best golf right now, and there's only been a few golfers that have won it in consecutive years."

There's a lot of young and solid golfers on tour and one of those is Rory McIlroy, who is pretty relaxed heading into Augusta.

"I think the pressure may be a little less on him for getting that career Grand Slam," Emily said.
