Police, Task Force Seek Violent Fugitive

Police are looking for an Akron man wanted for felonious assault.

Akron Police and the U.S. Marshal's Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force want to arrest 39 year-old Michael Deshawne Ayers for a violent assault on Roslyn Avenue in September.

They say Ayers got into an argument with a 26 year-old man in front of a sidewalk, and fired several shots at him, striking him "several times".

The victim suffered serious injuries and was hospitalized for over a month. Ayers is 6' 2" and 219 lbs. and is pictured above.

(APD, news release) The Akron Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force are asking for assistance from the public for information that could lead to the arrest of Michael Deshawne Ayers. Ayers is wanted for Felonious Assault.

On September 20, 2015 around 10:15 in the evening, Michael Ayers got into an argument with a 26 year old male on the sidewalk in front of a house in the 1300 block of Roslyn Avenue. Following the argument, Ayers pulled out a handgun and fired several shots at the victim, striking the victim multiple times. The victim was transported to Akron General Medical Center where he remained hospitalized for over a month. The victim suffered very serious injuries.

Michael Deshawne Ayers is a black male, 39 years old, 6'02", and 219 lbs. He has a last known address on Stadelman Avenue.

A reward is being offered by the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force for information directly related to the arrest of Michael Deshawne Ayers.
