Will Johnny Manziel be ready to play - if needed - for the Browns this weekend against the Arizona Cardinals?

There's a little matter of the NFL coming to talk to him about that incident with his girlfriend on I-90.

Coach Mike Pettine won't give the exact date of the meeting between his backup and the league, but it will happen soon.

"I'll put it this way, it's imminent," Pettine told reporters at his Wednesday press conference. "There's a sense of urgency to it, and that meeting is imminent."

Coach Pettine says he doesn't know at this time if Manziel will be available Sunday if needed. He's been taking first-team reps this week.

Starter Josh McCown is still nursing a sore shoulder, but Pettine says he's "day to day" and could start on Sunday, even missing practices.
