AUDIO Browns Release Brian Hartline

After one season with the Cleveland Browns, wide reciever Brian Hartline is no longer with the team.

Steve King from Browns Daily Dose.com joined the Sam Bourquin Show to talk about the move and how the team is committed to the four wide recievers they drafted in April.

He said he was not surprised about the move because with a new brain trust in place, moves will be made.

"That's just the way it is," King said. "I think he could have been a tremendous help on this team with all the young receivers and having the ability to teach them about running routes, and catching the ball without having all the physical skills."

Hartline, a GlenOak graduate and former Ohio State Buckeye, had 46 catches for 523 yards and a pair of TD's last season.

AUDIO Steve King: Browns Might Trade Back

The big day is just one day away, it's the Super Bowl in Northeast Ohio, yes we are talking about Draft Day.

Steve King from BrownsDailyDose.com spoke with Sam Bourquin Wednesday and he seems to think that the Browns will not be staying with the #8 overall selection tomorrow night in Chicago, and they might get their quarterback later in the first round.

He says Hue Jackson and former Memphis signal-caller Paxton Lynch crossed paths, and Hue was very impressed with Lynch's size and potential.

"I think maybe when it's all said and done that that's who he's talking about when he says he can mold a quarterback he can draft later," King explained.

Hue worked with Bengals QB's Andy Dalton and AJ McCarron in Cincy most recently before being hired by Cleveland. Lynch is projected as a 1st or 2nd round pick.

AUDIO Browns Rebuild, Who Will QB?

As the Browns continue their full-scale rebuild, there's a lot of stuff to talk about including whether or not the Browns should sign Robert Griffin III or Colin Kaepernick, let Joe Thomas go play for a winner, and just who is going to line up at offensive line in Week 1.

Steve King from BrownsDailyDose joined the Sam Bourquin Show to talk about all those topics and more, saying that coach Hue Jackson is going to have a lot of work ahead of him here moving forward.

One of the key news from the offseason thus far is the ankle surgery for Pro Bowl CB Joe Haden. He is expected to miss some significant time with the recovery.

"This team can't afford to lose any of their key players and expect to be competitive, much less win," King said.

Sam and Steve said maintaining cohesion on the offensive line is a major concern, and regardless of who will be the quarterback for the Browns this upcoming season, they're going to have to protect the signal-caller and keep him upright.

"That line right now is pretty shaky, and if they let Joe Thomas go, it will be even worse."

AUDIO King: Browns Find Their Guy

The Browns coaching search has come to a close as Hue Jackson becomes the team's 8th head coach since their rebirth in 1999.

Steve King from BrownsDailyDose.com joined the Sam Bourquin Show Wednesday to talk about the move and the fact that the new braintrust of Jimmy Haslam, Sashi Brown, and Paul DePodesta found their guy, the man they believe will get the Browns franchise where it needs to go.

"They felt that if he went to New York, he was gone," King said. "Hue had an interview in New York for the Giants job, he had a good conversation with Jimmy Haslam, and how he's the coach, so it was a good move that the Browns got the guy they wanted."

Published in Sam and Brad

The Cleveland Browns are still searching for a head coach and there are a few solid candidates out there from Sean McDermott from the Carolina Panthers, to Hue Jackson from the Cincinnati Bengals, Whoever it is, it will be a unique and challenging experience, due to the new front office structure and the implementation of analytics in choosing a roster and making football decisions.

Steve King from BrownsDailyDose.com joined the Sam Bourquin Show on Monday to talk about the ongoing search.

"I think its going to be one of the guys everyone is talking about, (Matt) Patricia, (Teryl) Austin, and Hue Jackson," King said. "There might be some coordinators for teams who are still in the playoffs, but those guys are the ones most people are talking about."

AUDIO Pettine & Farmer Gone: Now What?

The circus continues in Berea, and the Cleveland Browns are looking for a new General Manager and Head Coach.

The "Voice of the Browns" WKYC's Jim Donovan joined the Sam Bourquin Show on a "Black Monday" to talk about the feeling heading into FirstEnergy Stadium Sunday and what the feelings were from not only Donovan's perspective, but the fans' perspective as the Browns played another meaningless game in the month of January against the Steelers.

"It was an eerie feeling," Donovan said.

"Going into the stadium it was like going into Heinz Field, because everybody was wearing a black and gold Steelers shirt and waving their Terrible Towels."

"Those are the fruits of being 3-13, that happens when you lose a lot, you lose control of the stadium."

Steve King from BrownsDailyDose.com said he expected the firings of Farmer and Pettine to happen, but he says applauds owner Jimmy Haslam for doing what had to be done.

"You can't move forward until you clear the path and that's what he did."

AUDIO Another Year, Another Browns Rebuild

The Cleveland Browns are rebuilding...Again. The Browns have fired another GM and head coach...Again. When will it stop you ask?

Our own Sam Bourquin has his take on the Browns' misfourtunes.

"We have a seven-layer Browns burrito (of dysfunction) in Berea," says Bourquin. "We still don't have a quarterback, we have a left tackle (in Joe Thomas that doesn't know if he wants to be a part of this mess, and I don't blame him."

He also discussed the addition of Sashi Brown to the organization, saying that he does not understand why he would have control over the 53-man roster and other football decisions.

AUDIO Steve King Breaks Down The Browns

After the Browns lost to the Seattle Seahawks yesterday in the Great Northwest, many things were to blame for the 30-13 defeat, but the quarterback was not one of them.

Steve King from BrownsDailyDose.com joined the Sam Bourquin Show Monday to talk about the game and what led to the lopsided loss.

"The tackling was terrible," King said. "At some point these guys are going to have to learn to tackle, and if they don't, you will see more games like you did yesterday."

Overall, King gave Johnny Manziel a 'B' grade, saying he made some plays, did somet things moving the pocket, but ultimately, quarterbacks are judged by wins and losses.

"His receivers had some drops, which didn't help," King explained.
