WAKR Saturday Morning Podcast

 

WAKR starts the weekend with a series of informative & entertaining talk shows providing the information you can actually use in our "At Your Service"  Saturday morning talk shows. You can almost always learn something new.  Whether it's sprucing up your garden or your home, we've got the answers and fresh new ideas that you're looking for.

And just in case you miss Saturday's broadcast starting at 8AM, we have of your favorite shows. Here are those podcasts just for you!  Tom Dayton of "Ready, Set, Grow!",  John Goch with Props Consulting  from "The Remodeler's Roundtable", and Andy January & Kathryn DeLong with "My Beautiful Home" are now available at a click of your mouse or when you're on-the-go, on your portable device.

  • Aaron has been working with RCRG since August of 2008 covering various news and sporting events. He graduated in 2003 from St. Vincent-St. Mary High School in Akron. He then went onto the University of Akron in May of 2008 with a degree in Radio/TV & Media Productions and a minor in Psychology. It was at WZIP & ZTV where Aaron developed a passion for radio especially Sports Radio. While attending the University of Akron you could hear Aaron on Sundays doing the "Sports Power Talk" program.   • A lifelong resident of Northeast Ohio, Tony Mazur has been with 1590 WAKR since 2015. He is the producer and fill-in host of the Ray Horner Morning Show, as well as a contributor on various programs on the station.
     
    Prior to joining Akron media, Tony's first few years in radio were in the Cleveland area. He began his broadcasting career fresh out of high school at 18, and has been active in the field ever since. Tony already has an alphabet soup of call letters, working for and contributing to WKNR, WHK, WFUN, WWMK, WKRK, WNCX, and WWGK, all in Northeast Ohio. He has also covered professional, collegiate, and high school sports across Ohio.
     
    When he is not behind the microphone in a radio studio, Tony has been seen performing stand-up comedy in the area. He can either be found at a ballpark, comedy club, concert hall, or in his thriving neighborhood of Highland Square.

  • Mike Ward is the afternoon anchor/reporter for 1590 WAKR. He has been a radio news reporter and anchor for over 20 years, for a variety of stations in Ohio, Virginia, and California. For seven years, he was a news reporter and anchor for Sacramento's top-rated news/talk station, KFBK, and was also news director for WFIR in Roanoke, Virginia. He's also been heard on Cleveland stations. Mike has a special interest in technology, and was a regular on the nationally syndicated radio show "On Computers with Gina Smith". Despite his out-of-area experience, Mike is an Akron native. He was born at Akron City Hospital, and grew up in Cuyahoga Falls. He's been with WAKR since 2009. He then went on to Kent State University, where he earned a Master's Degree in broadcast journalism and served as Morning Edition Producer at WKSU.
