Akron Police detectives are looking for a man they say tried to rob the KeyBank on South Main Street in Akron Friday afternoon.
According to the report, the suspect (pictured) walked in demanding money from a deller. When the teller did not comply with the suspect's demands, he reportedly tried to grab cash from a customer inside the bank. His second attempt at robbery was unsuccessful. Before fleeing the scene, witnesses say the man threatened to kill everyone inside the bank.

Akron Police are looking for the suspect in an attempted armed robbery of the Valley Mart at 1752 Merriman Road Monday afternoon.
According to the APD report, the suspect walked into the Valley Mart with a scarf covering his face, threw a plastic bag in the clerk's face, pulled out a gun, and then demanded money.
The clerk complied, and put an undisclosed amount in the bag. That's when the suspect took off running, but didn't realize the clerk was running after him... armed with a broomstick! The clerk chased down the suspect and hit him over the back of the head with the broomstick, causing the suspect to drop the bag of cash and continue running away northbound on Weathervane Lane.
The suspect is described as a white male about 25-30 years-old, between 5'10" and 6'0" tall, with brown hair. He was wearing a black scarf over his face, black hoodie with white horizontal stripes, black shorts, and flip flops.

Akron Police are looking for the public's help finding a suspected bank robber.
According to a press release from the police, the suspect walked into the PNC Bank at 1 Cascade Plaza around 3 o'clock Wednesday afternoon and handed the teller a note. The note reportedly demanded $8,000 in cash and claimed that the man had a gun.
The suspect (pictured) is described as a black male, between 40 and 45 years old, around 6 feet tall, approximately 190 pounds with a mustache.

Akron Police are looking for two suspects they say robbed the Walgreen's Pharmacy on Copley Road last Saturday, December 31st, of one bottle of medication.
According to a police report, the two black males walked into the store located at 1303 Copley Road, and walked around for about an hour. One of the suspects made a purchase at the front of the store, and reportedly acted as a loookout as the second suspect jumped through the small pharmacy window at the back of the store. Once through, the second suspect pointed a spray bottle, filled with an unknown liquid, and threatened the pharmacist and technician, saying, "Don't move or I'll shoot you guys." The suspect then grabbed one bottle of an undisclosed medication and the two feld the scene.
Police are looking for two black males who fled the scene in a white sedan, likely a Toyota, southbound on South Hawkins Avenue. Anyone with information is asked to call Akron Police.
Akron Police is looking for the public's help identifying the person they say robbed the Carnegie Pantry at 959 Carnegie Avenue last Wednesday afternoon just after 4 p.m.
As shown in the video below, the suspect entered the store and pointed a gun at the clerk, demanding money from the register and Newport 100 cigarettes.
The suspect is described as a black male, about 5'5", between 250 and 300 pounds. He was wearing gloves and a bandana over his face. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Magaw with the Akron Police at 330-375-2490.
Akron Police are asking the public's help catching a woman who robbed the PNC Bank at 1546 West Market Street just after the bank opened after 9 a.m. Tuesday.
The police report states that employees reported the suspect entered the bank, handed the teller a note and demanded money. The teller handed the suspect an unreported amount of cash. The suspect put the money in a large purse and fled on foot.
The suspect is a black female, 35–45 years old, 5’02”–5’05”, 125–150 lbs., with long black hair. She was wearing a light blue zip-up jacket, dark jeans and a multi-colored head scarf.

Akron Police are asking the public's help in identifying a man who robbed a Dollar General employee while the employee was leaving to make a bank deposit. The store is located at 994 Brown St. in Akron. Police say the suspect is a white male, between 25 and 27 years old, with short, light-colored hair. Akron police say some observant neighbors helped them arrest a man they say assaulted and robbed an elderly woman at her home in Firestone Park.
Police say the 81 year-old woman says a man followed her into her home when she returned from grocery shopping, grabbed her and demanded her purse and jewelry.
The robber pulled some jewelry off her wrist and the woman had minor injuries.
Police say a few neighbors called with a description of the suspected robber and his vehicle.
They found the vehicle at an apartment on Nadia Court, and found their suspect hiding in the attic crawl space.
Police say 26 year-old Brandon Elkins of Nadia Court tried to get away while being taken from the police station to a patrol wagon, pushing an officer and running....but was taken into custody again after a foot chase.
Elkins faces aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary and escape. Most of the victim's property was found at the Nadia Court address, and they hope other items found will link him to similar burglaries and robberies.
