The Canton Charge have a new coach in the fold after Jordi Fernandez left to take an assistant coaching position with the Denver Nuggets.

Nate Reinking, the new Charge head man, spoke with our own Sam Bourquin Monday to talk about his new gig and getting his players ready for the upcoming season.

Reinking , a Galion, Ohio native, played his college baskeball at Kent State University  and overseas as well.

The Canton Charge have taken Game 1 of their best-of-three series with the Maine Red Claws in a nailbiter 115-114, and they are looking to move ahead in the NBDL Playoffs.

Communications Manager Sean Wyatt from the Canton Charge joined the Sam Bourquin Show to talk about the ball game and what lies ahead for the team after that hard-fought win.

He said that was great to see the crowd at the Civic Center come alive with the team in the second half, especially in the fourth quarter.

"It really came down to just getting stops, stopping their shooting from the perimeter, digging in defensively," Wyatt said. 

Quinn Cook and Nick Minnerath paced the Charge with their scoring and defense. They will play in Maine against the Red Claws tomorrow.

 Wyatt said the rosters can fluctuate with the NBA teams in the playoff chase as well. But the Charge are good with their core guys and hopefully they can get to a championship.
