Stow BMV Reopens After Abrupt Closing

Written by

The Bureau of Motor Vehicles in Stow reopened Friday after abruptly closing last month.

The Akron Beacon Journal reports the location at Fishcreek and Graham roads closed without notice on January 4th.

It was announced later that month that Alfred Mason Jr., the BMV's acting Deputy Registrar since 2007, had been indicted for possible misconduct by the Summit County prosecutor's office.

The office was closed until the state could find someone to fill the position.

A grand opening of the Stow BMV will be held Monday with renovations completed by new Deputy Registrar, Cynthia Rhodes.
