Barberton Man Arrested For Running a Meth Lab

A Barberton man accused of a running a meth lab is behind bars.

Thomas Harris, 43, has been charged with Illegal Manufacture of Drugs, a first-degree felony.

Harris' charged worsened because he was running the meth lab next to his child's bedroom.

Barberton police searched the home in the 100 block of 2nd Street S.W., after conducting a "knock and talk" and the residents granted them permission.

The officers found several items to make meth in the garage and more items, including meth, were also found in his child's room.

He is expected to make an appearance Monday in Barberton Municipal Court.

Harris was arrested and booked into the city jail. The Summit County Drug Unit cleaned up the meth lab, police said.
