UA Students Getting Facility Fee Refunds

Written by

It looks like students at The University of Akron are getting a partial refund.

The university last year increased facilities fees to help close a budget gap.

Now, the state is telling the university that the facilities fees are no different than general fees, so they have the same cap as other fees and tuition. The increase was about $10 per credit hour up to 12-credit hours.

The university is going to refund the increase at a cost of about $4 million.

The most money a student could get is about $240.
