OVI Checkpoint Nets 2 Arrests

Two people were arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated at two checkpoints last night in Green.

The Summit County OVI Task Force says the average blood alcohol level of the two arrested for OVI was .199, which is almost two and a half times the legal limit.

536 vehicles passed through the two checkpoints on East Turkeyfoot Lake Road and Massillon Road.

Others were arrested for driving, drug and other offenses.

(Summit County OVI Task Force) On Friday June 17th 2016, the Summit County OVI Task Force conducted two sobriety checkpoints in the City of Green.

The first checkpoint was conducted at 700 east Turkeyfoot Lake Road:

371- Vehicles passed through the checkpoint in total

17- Vehicles were directed into the diversion area for further investigation or violations

01- Person was arrested for OVI

02- People were arrested for driving under suspension

01- Person was arrested for no operator's license

01- Vehicle was impounded

The second checkpoint was conducted at 3330 Massillon Road:

165- Vehicles passed through the checkpoint in total

09- Vehicles were directed into the diversion area for further investigation or violations

01- Person was arrested for OVI

02- People were arrested for driving under suspension

02- People were arrested for misdemeanor possession of drugs

01- Person was arrested on a felony charge of carrying a concealed weapon (handgun)

02- People were arrested for drug paraphernalia

03- Vehicles were impounded

The average BAC result for the individuals arrested for OVI & provided a breath sample was .199

Almost two and one half times the legal limit
