APD Seeking Popeye's Robbers

Akron police are looking for whoever robbed the Popeye's restaurant on South Arlington Street on Thursday.

Restaurant employees say two armed robbers came in with their faces covered at about 2 in the afternoon...tried to jump over the counter and demanded money.

Employees ran out of the restaurant, and the robbers went after them - with one of the robbers firing a shot in the air.

The robbers went away empty handed, and employees called police from a nearby business.

(Akron Police Department) Around 2:00pm yesterday afternoon, the Popeye's Louisiana Kitchen, located at 1200 South Arlington Street, was robbed. The employees reported the suspects entered the restaurant with their faces covered and armed with handguns. The suspects attempted to jump over the counter and demanded money. The employees ran out of the restaurant. The suspects chased after the employees and one suspect fired a shot into the air. The suspects fled without getting anything. The employees called the police from a nearby business.

The suspects are two black males, 19 – 25 years old. The first suspect is 6'02" – 6'03", 200 lbs., and was wearing a black mask and a black hooded sweatshirt. The second suspect is 5'10", 180 lbs., and was wearing a black mask and black hooded sweatshirt.
