APD Seeks Fugitive Wanted For Murder

The Akron Police Department is looking for a fugitive accused of murder at a Copley Road gas station.

The shooting happened on August 1st in the gas station parking lot - police say 29 year-old Romeo Thomas was involved in a shooting with another vehicle, when a passenger in his car was struck by a bullet.

That passenger was found dead on Peerless Avenue.

Police say Thomas should be considered armed and dangerous.

(APD) Officers need the public's help in locating a wanted fugitive involved in a homicide that occurred on August 1, 2015 at 1281 Copley Road. The wanted fugitive is Romeo Leonard Thomas, 29, with a last known address on Delia Avenue in Akron. Thomas is wanted for murder, felonious assault and abuse of a corpse.

Around 5:30am on August 1, 2015, Romeo Thomas was involved in a shooting with another vehicle in a gas station parking lot on Copley Road. Following the shooting, a passenger in Thomas' vehicle was struck by a bullet. The victim's body was later discovered in the devil strip in front of 760 Peerless Avenue.

Romeo Leonard Thomas is 5'10" and 200 lbs. He should be considered armed and dangerous.
