University of Akron Gets $20 Million Donation

The grandaughter of the founder of the Quaker Oats company--Jean Hower Taber, has given the University of Akron its biggest ever donation---$20 million dollars.

University President, Matthew Wilson, says three quarters of the money will be used for scholarships for students studying Audiology, and for students in their Honors College.

This just the latest gift from the noted community activist and philanthropist, who, prior to her death this summer--had already donated $7.7 million dollars to the University.
