Snow Leopard Cub First View @ Akron Zoo

Photo op tomorrow for the media at the Akron Zoo, as the new little snow leopard cub preens for the cameras before her big name reveal and first public outing on Saturday. 

 
The cub's mother will choose between names presented on three snacks, and the first one she touches, will be what the female cub will be named.

This week, Amazon bringing 2,700 new jobs to Northeast Ohio, beating the heat with building design and technology, electric cars powered with water, and artificial intelligence links built into your brain. 


This week, we're talking about food and the technology that takes it from the farm, to your table. We'll also talk about how technology that can tell us the best time to drink coffee, and high tech umpires in professional baseball.

New Ownership at Summa Health

Big news from Summit County's biggest employer; Summa Health.They've been bought out by Detroit-based Beaumont Health.

Summa CEO, Dr. Cliff Deveny talked us about why they did it, and what comes next.

 


A suspect in an Akron murder case was arrested by US Marshals and local police in South Charleston, West Virginia.

24 year old Eugene Wells is charged with Aggravated murder, for allegedly shooting 23 year old Walter Matthews Junior, during an argument near the intersection of Princeton and West South Street, on June 3rd.

Akron police reporting another at least apparently random shooting in the city.

They say an18 year old man was riding in his car near 2nd Avenue and Fuller Street Monday afternoon about 1:00,  when he stopped to make a turn, and a stranger started shooting at him. They say he was wounded when a bullet hit him in the ankle, and that several more hit his car.

Now, police are investigating, and asking anybody with information about the incident to contact them.
