AUDIO Rick Noland Talks Cavs, Wade

One of the main discussions going on in the sports world is where will Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade will land as a result of free agency.

Cleveland has been mentioned as one of those potential destinations, and Rick Noland from the Medina Gazette spoke with Sam Bourquin Wednesday to talk about the likelihood of Wade coming to the champion Cavs, or spending the rest of his career where it began 13 years ago in Miami.

"They (the Cavs) don't have the money to get this done," Noland said. "When all is said and done he's going to go back to Miami."

Wade and James, who are close friends off the court, won two championships with the Heat during their days in South Beach, when they teamed with Chris Bosh to form one of the league's Big 3.

The Cavaliers have already parted ways with center Timofey Mozgov and Matthew Dellavedova via free agency, and the rumors have already started as far as Dwyane Wade leaving Miami to come to Cleveland and reunite with LeBron James on the hardwood.

"The Heat need Wade more than he needs the Heat organization," Dulik stated.

He said when Cavs guard J.R. Smith broke down at the podium, it gave people an insight into who he really is and not what people percieve.

"He's a really, really likeable guy, who's made some bad decisions in his life, but he's shown the ability to persevere, and it was a really nice moment for him."

AUDIO Cavs & Warriors Ready To Roll

The Cavaliers will be going up against the Draymond Green-less Golden State Warriors tonight, and many think the Dubs will get it wrapped up tonight, but there is a sliver of hope in Northeast Ohio.

Rick Noland from the Medina Gazette joined the Sam Bourquin Show Monday to talk about what it will take for the Cavs to win tonight in Oakland.

"LeBron has to be a dominant LeBron from beginning to end," Rick said. "A lot of people thought this series was over before the Draymond news."

Vern Glenn from KPIX in the Bay Area had his own theories about the Draymond Green suspension and how the league handled it.

The Cavaliers have completed their sweep of the Atlanta Hawks on Sunday, and it seems as though the Wine and Gold are really coming together.

Brian Dulik from the Medina Gazette joined the Sam Bourquin Show to talk about what they've been doing as of late and how their long-distance shooting has propelled them to new heights.

"This team has that special feeling to it," Dulik said. "It's been so much fun to watch, and I'm excited even though we have a week in between games to see what happens next."

The Cavs have swept both the Detroit Pistons and the Atlanta Hawks and will await the winner of the Toronto Raptors and Miami Heat series.

Head Coach Tyronn Lue, who took the helm in the middle of the season has been pressing all the right buttons it seems during the playoffs.  Brian says he's been impressed with how he's been able to make adjustments on the fly and get the players in the best position to make plays and win games.

"It's all Tyronn Lue's schemes, relying on his assistant coaches, and it's all about them playing great defense."

AUDIO Rick Noland Breaks Down Wine & Gold

The Cleveland Cavaliers had two completely different games in Florida this past weekend, winning over Orlando and losing to Miami. The Cavs still have some unanswered questions as they head down the home stretch of the regular season.

Rick Noland from the Medina Gazette joined the Sam Bourquin Show Monday to talk about the inconsistency the Cavaliers have displayed up to this point, and what they need to do to develop that consistency.

He says LeBron James is correct on the Cavs' approach game in and game out is important to their success.

"LeBron is correct in that individual wins and losses aren't drastically important to the postseason, but I think the approach that you develop from the beginning of the season to the end of the season is very, very important, and I don't think the Cavs have developed that approach," Noland said.

The Cavs play Denver tonight, with a tip time of  7p.m. on 1590 WAKR.

Noland said that they don't have a reason to be bored with their regular season because they haven't hit their peak yet.

"I don't think there's a switch you can flip to be mentally tough," he says.

AUDIO Rick Noland Talking Wine & Gold

After their loss to the Utah Jazz Monday night, the Cleveland Cavaliers are ready to taste a little home cooking against the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday at the Q.

Rick Noland, who covers the Wine and Gold for the Medina Gazette joined the Sam Bourquin Show Tuesday to talk about the Cavs sluggish loss to the Jazz to close out their extended West Coast road trip, and what they need to do better moving through this next stretch of games.

"It's kind of been their M.O. this whole season, they'll go out and play great one night, and then go out and lose against a team, who might be without their best player, as Gordon Hayward didn't play last night," Noland said.

AUDIO Noland: Cavaliers Still Can Improve

The Cleveland Cavaliers are in a good spot heading into the All-Star Break, and coming off their win last night against the Los Angeles Lakers and Kobe Bryant, things are on the upswing.

Cavaliers beat writer Rick Noland from the Medina Gazette joined Aaron Coleman in the Average Sports Show Thursday to talk about the Wine and Gold, and ways they can improve on their play on the court.

"The Cavs are good health-wise, Matthew Dellavedova missed a few games with the leg injury, but he should be okay," said Noland.

With Kyrie Irving, he seems to have his legs underneath him after missing 24 games with a leg injury, but after averaging 32 a game the last few games, Rick says Irving appears to be 100 percent.

"Tyronn Lue said after the game last night that Kyrie's all the way back," Noland said. "One of the encouraging things about his game is that he's only taking a few dribbles and then pulling up and shooting the ball."

Noland says he still has some worries about this team and he can't quite put his finger on it.

"Right now I just don't think they're good enough, consistently enough to beat the Spurs or Warriors in a seven-game series," Rick said.

"It just seems harder than it should be many nights."

David Blatt Fired, What's Next?

Big news reverberating throughout the basketball world as David Blatt has been fired as the coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers, a surprising move to many, but not to others.

Rick Noland, who covers the Cavaliers for the Medina Gazette and the Elyria Chronicle Telegram joined the Sam Bourquin Show to talk about the firing, saying that a team with title aspirations, this move was necessary.

"This is an NBA title season in their mind, and I think that when they put all the facts on the table, weigh the intangibles as much and as accurately as they possibly could have, they thought that this was a move that had to be made," Noland explained.

Various sources around the NBA report that assistant coach Tyronn Lue has agreed to a" multi-year" deal to coach the team moving forward.

Some are calling it a bold move, a gutsy move to fire the head coach in the middle of the season, but Noland says for a team who is on the verge of winning it all, the time is now.
