AUDIO McKee Breaks Down Rousey Upset

Written by

Many people are still buzzing about Holly Holm's knockout of MMA star Rhonda Rousey this past weekend in UFC 193, equating it to the knockout of Mike Tyson by James "Buster" Douglas many years ago.

Vince McKee from the Inscriber Digital Magazine spoke with our own Brad Russell from the Average Sports Show to talk about the match and what it means for the careers of both women moving forward.

"I think Holly Holm is going to be a dominant champion," McKee said. "I don't think she's going to flame out like Douglas did in boxing after he beat Tyson, he lost to (Evander) Holyfield and was never heard from again."

McKee said Rousey won't take a hit to her brand with this loss, but some much-needed time off will help her.

"I think she needs to take some time off, regroup, she had one bad night with her game plan, just attack it differently and get ready for a rematch."
