AUDIO: 1590 WAKR Student Athlete of the Week: Reed Becker

This week, the 1590 WAKR Male Student Athlete of the Week is Reed Becker from Norton High School.
A senior at Norton, Reed plays basketball and baseball for the Panthers under Coach Rod Swarts. Reed mentioned he's been able to hone in on his basketball game over the last few years, and has been able to break the record for most three-pointers made in a game. He has also been selected as second-team PTC in basketball.
Like many student athletes, Reed has to find a balance between schoolwork and athletics, and says the help from his parents is a motivating factor to keep him on track.
Reed looks up to the coaches as more of a role model than just a coach. "They teach us responsibility through sports.”
Reed plans to continue his studies at Kent State University.
We here at 1590 WAKR wish him the best through the rest of his senior year and on into college.
