1590 WAKR Student Athlete of the Week: Daniel McRaven

Written by
This week, our 1590 WAKR Student Athlete of the Week is Daniel McRaven, senior soccer player at Archbishop Hoban High School.

Daniel patrols the midfield for the Hoban Knights, and makes it a point to play his best day in, day out.

"Every game I go in, I don't think about who I'm playing," says Daniel. I just think I'm gonna go out and give 110%, and play my best."

They say the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree, as is the case in the McRaven household. Daniel's father played soccer in college, and he showed his son the ropes at a young age. Facetiously, Daniel says he can beat his dad on the field.

As of this posting, the Knights' soccer team has yet to lose. They have some tough teams on the horizon, as they will take on St. Edward, Walsh Jesuit, St. Vincent-St. Mary, and Lake Catholic.

When asked about his time at Hoban, Daniel has enjoyed his stay.

"I like everyone here," Daniel says. "I think everyone here has a great personality. The school is a family."

In his spare time, Daniel plays the piano and checks out other high school and college soccer games.

After graduation, Daniel is taking a serious look at the University of Cincinnati.
