1590 WAKR Student Athlete of the Week: Christian Dokes

Written by
Firestone High School senior football player Christian Dokes is the WAKR male Student Athlete of the Week for September 9th-September 16th.

Through the first two games for the Falcons, the senior defensive end has nine solo tackles and two quarterback sacks.

"His motor never stops," says head coach Eric Mitchell. "He can set the edge against the run and he can really rush the passer."

"I've always enjoyed the game of football," says Dokes. "I first played at the age of nine and have never stopped."

Christian is a four-year member of the Falcon football team and a three-year starter, and was an All-City performer last year at defensive end. Dokes plans on playing basketball and track this calendar year, as well.

Christian is also a volunteer in the "Focus Food" program, which helps deliver food to families in need in Summit County.

In his upcoming college years, he is hoping for a degree in Biology and then a trip to Dentistry School.

"I have always loved science and the human body, I would really like to become a dentist," said Dokes.

"He is a man who is a terrific role model for younger team members as well as others in the school," said Mitchell.
