AUDIO Brad Tees It Up At The Firestone 9

Written by

This week on a Tee it Up Tuesday, Brad decided to take a hack at the Raymond C. Firestone Public 9 and play a couple of holes.

Golf pro and General Manager Dan Dauk spoke with Brad about the course, it's history, and some of the amenities that make this course a winner for local golfers who want to try their luck.

With the weather being a challenge early on, Dauk says that maintaining the course has been a top priority.

"Our standards are very high, our greens are pefect, our rough is lush, and we're very fortunate to have the same crew that maintains Firestone Country Club working on our course."

He says the course is a challenge for everyone from the scratch golfer to the person who is just trying to get into golf, and with the course being as challenging as it is, with great views, as a par 35, it can make for a competitive round.

"It's a lot of fun, and if you haven't played, I certainly invite you to come on out here and play," he said.

The course is part of the 2016 Players Golf Card.  The Firestone Public Course is located on 600 Swartz Road in Akron, just a stone's throw away from Firestone Country Club and the South Course, where they play the World Golf Championships-Bridgestone Invitational.
