1590 WAKR Student Athlete of the Week: Brooke Simmelroth

Written by
Copley High School junior soccer star Brooke Simmelroth is the WAKR Female Student Athlete of the Week for October 21st-October 28th.

Brooke carries an impressive 4.0 GPA while being a three-year player on the terrific Copley Girls soccer team.

Brooke is coming off a knee injury that kept her out early, but has put together another outstanding season for the Indians with 2 goals and 5 assists.

"Her soccer IQ speaks for itself, as she is a selfless leader and a determined hard worker," said Copley girls soccer coach Wally Senk.

"I have always loved soccer since I was little," said Simmelroth. "I like to score but I really love to help teammates get in a position to score. I love to assist."

That is where Semmelroth would like to take the next step, as she would like to not only educate on the soccer field, but would love to teach in a classroom.

"I really would like to get into education and teach," she says.

"Brooke's leadership and field smarts have also led to great academic success at Copley," said Senk.

Brooke does a lot of volunteering at her church, as she teaches kids in her church soccer and basketball.

Semmelroth was an All-Suburban League performer in 2015 as a Center-Midfielder, helping the Indians enjoy another winning season.

"Being part of this program is great, and Coach Senk does a great job of coaching and teaching," says Simmelroth.
